What Are The 2024 - 2025 Federal Student Loan Interest Rates?
Here are the new interest rates for the Direct Subsidized, Direct Unsubsidized, Grad PLUS and Parent PLUS loans from the federal government.

Direct Subsidized - 6.53% interest rate / 1% origination fee
Direct Unsubsidized - 8.08% interest rate / 1% origination fee
Grad PLUS - 9.08% interest rate / 4.2% origination fee (~10% APR)
Parent PLUS - 9.08% interest rate / 4.2% origination fee (~10% APR)
These rates are expected as the federal student loan rates are set once per year at an auction in May. On May 8th, 2024 the auction determined a 4.483% Treasury note would be the basis for the calculations, meaning that we're able to provide this information now. You can learn more here.

Grad PLUS - 9.08% interest rate / 4.2% origination fee (~10% APR)
Parent PLUS - 9.08% interest rate / 4.2% origination fee (~10% APR)
